JIMMY Shares New Video For *GHETTOLAND
The video captures JIMMY dancing around and singing in the spotlight on the stage that is his living room after delivering "a message from *The Ghetto." The lyrics desperately plead for the love of another who seems partially disinterested, sending mixed signals. The delivery of the lyrics and even the aesthetic & performance of the visuals channel the likes of James Brown, Michael Jackson, Little Richard and 70s style retro funk/soul. A piece that is equal parts a blaxploitation film and a Motown performance through JIMMY's unique lens. The video also includes a reference to George Méliès' "A Trip to the Moon." film.
Released via THEDUALITY, JIMMY's fifth album comes one year after his transformative project GNARLY established his creative direction. *GHETTOLAND features the previously released single “*TWENTY.” This is another follow up to his previous "*UNCULTURED" music video that's just reached over 1m views across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
JIMMY also shared three episodes of his new docuseries TV show that shares the same name of the album, capturing the creation process and lifestyle leading up to it's release and promotion. Check out the show, the album & the music video below.
