JIMMY Announces New Album 'SHAZAM'

Los Angeles-based recording artist JIMMY has revealed four new cover arts & two release dates for his upcoming project SHAZAM. This comes after the start of a theatric rollout where it began with the artist quitting to become a magician and the release of the lead single "BEIN' MYSELF". JIMMY's new album SHAZAM will be released November 24th, 2023 on Zulak and December 1st on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc. There are four cover artworks for the album with the main being The Great Jimbolini with Demon Eve on his shoulder. The first alternate shows Jimbolini holding roses, chocolate and a gift surrounded by falling playing cards. The second alternate shows Jimbolini shuffling 16 playing cards in the air signifying 16 tracks on the album. The third and last alternate being Jimbolini's grungy-looking gloves eerily holding a shining magic stick on a black backdrop. Listeners can preorder a CD & digital copy of the album via JIMMY's Marketplace. Listeners can also pre-save it on Spotify via Distrokid.

Last week the magician debuted a new lead single "BEIN' MYSELF" with The Great Jimbolini dropping hungry & introspective rhymes over jazzy production. We get hints of new personality with the magician grunting between verses and rapping in a gritty tone just before the second half of the song kicks in. Walking listeners through his journey to now, Jimbolini highlights when he learned he was the child of an ex-drug dealer, the genesis of his music career and how some passive spectators abuse the freedom of not facing consequences for their apathetic comments online.

He ends the track reminding young listeners to not take the time they have for granted, that they have "the magic" and to "not let anyone or anything get in their way." Fans are reacting positively to the new track calling it one of his "absolute best" and are excited to hear what the magician will share next. Some fans are just happy to hear that Poindexter hasn't hung up the mic following the last few headlines. Opting to make it a YouTube-exclusive, it appears that fans may not have to wait too much longer before a project is announced.

On November 10th, 2023, JIMMY shared a new short trailer introducing The Great Jimbolini, a once mediocre, now world-class magician under the hypnosis & aid of Eve Centeno. In the trailer, we find Jimbolini disappearing in thin air & stalking people with a magic wand with a vintage look. Alongside the video, the magician revealed a new website, jimbolinismagic.com, featuring a "story mode" that explains a 7-part summary of the lore. This is the same website fans discovered prior to it's launch. After a timer ended, visitors were also given access to a "main menu" where visitors can find JIMMY's socials, merch & more.
