Jimmy Poindexter has shared a new song titled 'SEE YOU IN HELL!' This marks the fourth of 7 STAGES OF GRIEF. A self-produced rap single that comes with a music video directed by himself, in which he raps about accepting his spot in "hell" over a catchy soul sample. In the video, Jimmy simply sits beside an Odd Future hoodie as he mouths some verses. Check it out below.
About the singles, Jimmy explained on an Instagram livestream that the songs being released are 7 standalone singles being released weekly. On X, Jimmy says "take note of these videos, they're simple on the surface but there's clues for the next album in each one." The singles are not songs from the new album, are not the start of a rollout and only match the corresponding 'stage of grief' in energy & tone.
"SEE YOU IN HELL!" follows Jimmy Poindexter's recent headlines about reaching out to the teams of Vince Staples, Zack Fox, Charlie Wilson and more. Another headline read that he also has reached out to A&Rs from nearly every record label with RCA Records being his top pick. These were followed by the news that he officially changed his artist name from JIMMY to his full real name Jimmy Poindexter. Jimmy has also quietly closed public access to the beta for Zulak to work on it's development noting that "it's been a success." The full statement is on Zulak's website.
In 2023, Jimmy stayed busy all year releasing and promoting his Jazz-inspired album DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY and his Hip Hop-centered album SHAZAM, showcasing his unique and consistent work ethic. He ended up seeing success with both LPs reaching over 750k combined streams across platforms, as well as his 2022 release *GHETTOLAND reaching over 1.5 million streams alone — career high for the underdog.
